The eye-catching design takes plenty of inspiration from other Nissan models, from the Altima-inspired “V-motion” front fascia to the distinctive floating roof and wraparound tail lights. The practical five-door hatchback body style pays dividends when it comes to interior space. Not only does the EV offer up to 30 cubic feet of cargo space once the 60/40 split-folding rear seat goes down, but there’s also ample room for five occupants. Underneath the funky styling is an all-electric drivetrain complete with a standard 40-kilowatt-hour battery. In its S and SV trims, the 2021 Nissan LEAF generates 147 horsepower while delivering an EPA-estimated range of 149 miles. The S Plus, SV Plus, and SL Plus trims feature a larger and more powerful 62-kilowatt-hour battery capable of pushing 214 horsepower, along with a longer 226-mile EPA-estimated driving range. Both setups come with a variety of charging options, including a 240-volt Level 2 charger for home and public use and DC fast charging that gives you an 80-percent charge in 45 minutes with the 62-kilowatt-hour battery and 40 minutes with the 40-kilowatt-hour battery.
The impressive NissanConnect infotainment system is just one among the many features that make the 2021 Nissan LEAF such an appealing vehicle to spend time in. A customizable 8-inch touch screen display takes center stage inside the EV’s intuitive interior, giving you a tablet-like interface that you can rearrange and customize to your liking.
